Medication Assisted Treatment Programs

Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)

Many behavioral health issues can be successfully managed through prescribed and supervised use of medication. At Cove we provide medicated assisted treatment for opioid and alcohol addiction as well as psychiatric diagnoses. For addiction we provide:

  • Methadone treatment for Opioids
  • Suboxone treatment for Opioids
  • Vivitrol treatment for Opioids and Alcohol

These medications have been shown to be effective in reducing opioid cravings, reducing the risk of relapse and overdose, and improving retention and engagement in addiction treatment. Medication Assisted Treatment can allow an individual with a chronic disease to regain a normal state of mind, free of drug-induced high and lows, as well as a safe, effective and medically proven way to manage their disease.

Our MAT program for opioid use disorders provides treatment to individuals age 18 and older who are addicted to either prescription (Oxycontin, Vicodin, Fentanyl) or street (heroin) opiate drugs who need a bridge between addiction and sobriety. Our program adheres to the State of Florida guidelines, and is supervised by a licensed physician, and our medications are administered by licensed nurses. In addition to medical care, participants receive individual counseling to treat their substance use disorder and to allow them the opportunity to practice recovery and abstinence skills. Participants also have access additional supportive treatment at the outpatient or residential level of care if needed.

At Cove, we also prescribe medication for management of psychiatric diagnoses and symptoms. We have positioned ourselves as a behavioral health home to provide ongoing support for managing your behavioral health needs. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call us at 813-384-4000.
