Cove Behavioral Health has proudly served Hillsborough, Polk and surrounding counties over the past 50 years. Through our programs we treat mental health and substance abuse issues, with the mission of supporting our community’s overall wellness by providing accessible and compassionate behavioral health care.
Here at Cove, we see behavioral wellness as an ongoing effort and recognize that at different stages of life’s journey we all need various degrees of support. By providing a full array of services, we have established ourselves as a behavioral health home for our community so that we can be accessed for the type of support that suits your individual needs. From outreach and education, prevention and intervention, outpatient to residential treatment and after care we are your safe harbor.
In 1973 we were incorporated as the Drug Abuse Comprehensive Coordinating Office (DACCO) through the leadership of representatives from the City of Tampa, Hillsborough County, the Chamber of Commerce, United Way and other organizations in Tampa, Florida. We initially provided drug abuse planning, coordination and monitoring for local governmental units. However, in 1975, we received funding to provide drug treatment. Over the next 40 years we then expanded into the county’s largest comprehensive community-based substance abuse disorder service provider, reaching over 25,000 persons annually through prevention and treatment. In 2008, we built our three-story state-of-the-art Center for Behavioral Health in Tampa, Florida and in 2015 we expanded from Hillsborough to Polk county.
In 2021 after review of our community’s needs, we rebranded to Cove Behavioral Health. Cove Behavioral Health is committed to excellence in behavioral health care and to building a shared vision of hope for a healthier community. Our team of clinicians, nurses, doctors, case managers and care coordinators form a dedicated multidisciplinary team with the skill and passion to support you through your recovery journey.
Cove Behavioral Health is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and licensed by the Florida Department of Children and Families for our outstanding Drug and Alcohol Treatment Programs and Prevention Programs.
We provide in person services in Tampa and Lakeland as well as an array of virtual treatment services via telehealth. Our array of services allows us to position ourselves as a behavioral health home for you and your loved ones as you navigate life’s journey and to maintain our commitment to excellence in behavioral heath care and to building a share vision of hope for a healthier community.
At Cove we are excited and honored to be your safe harbor.
