Child Welfare Programs

As part of our commitment to a shared hope for a healthier community, Cove provides a variety of services that support the wellbeing of neglected and abuse children, by providing assessment, case management and treatment to parents who are struggling with managing their behavioral health while parenting. These programs include:

Family Intervention Specialists (FIS) – a specialty team of trained counselors, peer specialists and case managers who work with families with active child abuse/neglect investigations or child welfare case plans to determine the most appropriate treatment or intervention needed. We conduct a full assessment to identify substance abuse and mental health needs with parents in their homes and support them in the process of engaging with the recommended service providers.

Family Intensive Treatment Team (FITT) – an individualized wraparound program providing a trained multi-disciplinary team to support families who are involved in the child welfare system. Our goal is to provide one team who will collaborate to help your family unit be stronger & healthier, while you focus on managing and improving your behavioral health.  FITT works closely with your child welfare professionals to create a specific treatment plan tailored to your needs which can include substance abuse treatment, parenting, mental health, and coordination of care with any providers you or your children may be working with.

Safe at Home – In partnership with Gulf Coast Jewish and Family Community Services (GCJFCS), our counselors provide specialized in home intervention services for adults with co-occurring substance abuse and mental health issues who are involved in an active child abuse/neglect investigation in an effort to keep the family intact and avoid judicial dependency action.

Ask your case manager or Child Protective Investigator (CPI) to make a referral to begin this important journey getting the help that you need to stabilize your family! Or for more information about any of the above programs, contact us at childwelfare@covebh.org.
